Massage Therapist
Supervisor: Health and
Wellness Director
Prerequisites:
·
Massage therapist with a state
certified license and previous experience.
·
Proof of liability insurance
·
First Aid CPR certified within
90 days of hiring
·
Technical knowledge, excellent
guest service approach, good time management and organizational
skills, impeccable presence and attention to detail and cleanliness.
General Responsibilities:
Adaptability to perform repetitive
and/or short workout routines, influence people in their attitudes,
opinions and judgments. Perform a variety of functions on the job
and work with precise limits, tolerances and standards. Ability to
work with people and make judgments and decisions clearly in
assessing overall health related issues. Flexible schedule to
accommodate peak times for massage. Ability to positively influence
members in regards to massage and the health benefits.
Specific Responsibilities:

Skill Development and Progression: Maintain a current state
certification or license; seek additional certifications that
pertain to the specific needs of the population

Staff Training: Assist
with any additional staff training that will be required for the
massage therapy program. Attend the new employee orientation within
30 days of employment.

Program Development:
Assist in the growth of the massage therapy program

General Procedures:

Report to work 15 minutes prior
to scheduled shift and punch in.
·
Any questions or problems that
arise should be reported directly to your supervisor or director on
duty.
·
Be attentive to members and
their needs.
·
Maintain schedule of
appointments. Appointments should not be started late and they
should end on time.
·
Set the example for members and
staff by following all rules and guidelines.
·
Read, know, follow and enforce
emergency procedures, YMCA policies, rules, and health codes
applicable to the facility.
·
Perform assigned maintenance
duties to keep all pieces of equipment clean and working, as well as
keeping the massage room clean and report any problems to your
supervisor.

Perform light maintenance as per
the Health and Wellness Director and/or the Maintenance Director.
·
Informing the Health and
Wellness Director when supplies are running low so more can be
reordered.
·
Be responsible for all scheduled
hours and if necessary, follow the appropriate substitution
procedures.

Keep accurate records as
mandated by the Health and Wellness Director.
·
Be aware of fiscal
responsibilities and how they affect the YMCA.
·
Implement Character Development
in all phases of work.
Effect on End Results:
Provide a safe and positive experience for all members participating
in massage therapy services. Give the member a superior experience
that makes them want to continue using this facility for their
massage services as well as recommended this facility to others.
